Set the Scene Competition — Now Open!

Posted on 29/06/2011 in Competitions

Do you know a place in Scotland that would be great for a chase? Can you think of the perfect site for a fight? We want to hear your ideas!

Last Thursday, author Lari Don, launched the Set the Scene Competition which asks primary school children to suggest a real-life location in Scotland which Lari can use in her next book.

Lari is the author of the First Aid for Fairies series which includes three books so far – First Aid for Fairies and Other Fabled Beasts, Wolf Notes and Other Musical Mishaps and Storm Singing and Other Tangled Tasks (just out now!).

So far Lari has used real-life places from the Scottish Borders to the Isle of Skye and the cliffs of Sutherland in her books but she is running out of places in Scotland that she knows. So if you have a place that you think Helen and her fabled beast friends would like to visit you can find details of how to enter the competition on our Fun Stuff page. Perhaps your special place is near where you live, somewhere you go on holiday or just somewhere that you have always wanted to visit. Just remember – it has to be a real place!

If your location is chosen it will actually be included in the fourth book of the First Aid for Fairies series and you will also win a host of other prizes!

The deadline isn’t until 23rd September so you’ve got plenty of time to think up the perfect place! We look forward to reading your entries.
