The Myth of the Beast

Earlier this year we launched a competition for three primary school children to win £100 worth of Kelpies books for their primary school libraries. Children were asked to write a short story based on Kate Leiper‘s stunning Island Beast illustration from An Illustrated Treasury of Scottish Mythical Creatures and we were thrilled with the response!

Thank you to everybody who entered the competition — we’ve had a brilliant time reading all the creative stories! It has been a challenging task but we are delighted to finally announce the winners of our three categories:

P2 & 3 — Ruby, Luss Primary
P4 & 5 — Liam, St Andrew’s Primary
P6 & 7 — Devlin , Kirk o’Shotts Primary School

Each winner gets a signed copy of An Illustrated Treasury of Scottish Mythical Creatures plus £100 of Kelpies Books for their school library.
