Perfect for primary 3 and up, Velda the Awesomest Viking (along with her pal Thorfinn) makes a great introduction to a class project on the Vikings. Get in touch to find out about our discounts on class sets and author events and check out an extract here.
This fantastic virtual mini-event includes a reading from author David MacPhail, plus you and your class can learn to draw your own Viking longship!
If you enjoyed this mini-event, email us to find out about organising a full length version for your school! Author events can be tailored to fit the needs of your class, and funding may be available through the Scottish Book Trust Live Literature programme!
About Velda the Awesomest Viking
Velda is a tiny warrior with a BIG axe and a BIGGER attitude.
Some people don’t think girls can be proper Vikings. Velda doesn’t agree!
Velda must complete an epic quest to the danger-filled Islands of Deadly Doom in order to save the captured crew of legendary longship The Valkyrie.
There’s just one problem, well, more than one actually – she doesn’t have a ship, a crew, or a clue how to get there…
Join Velda as she makes some unlikely new friends and takes on terrifying tasks, all while proving she’s the awesomest Viking around!
