Announcing the winners of the Map My Monster Competition…
Posted on 22/07/2018 in Fun Stuff Lari Don Treasure of the Loch Ness Monster
To celebrate the publication of Lari Don’s latest terrific traditional tale, The Treasure of the Loch Ness Monster, Kelpies HQ have run our Map My Monster art competition to find out about our readers’ local monsters. Today marks the 85th anniversary of the first modern ‘sighting’ of the Loch Ness Monster. So we decided that it was fitting to announce the winners of the competition.
We asked young monster spotters to draw us a picture of their local, magical monster. We had some fantastic folklore inspired entries and author Lari Don had a very difficult decision choosing a winner. After much deliberation she finally came to a decision, and we’re delighted to announce that the winner of the Map My Monster art competition is…
Juliana drew some stunning pictures of the ‘Dwellers of the Loch’ (pictured below). Juliana has won a signed bundle of books by Lari Don!
And Juliana wasn’t the only winner, as Lari also picked two runners up. The lucky bookworms are…
Rosie Grinbergs drew a bewitching picture of the ‘Wilder’ monster, that lives in the Lacey Caves of Cumbria.
And Connor drew a fascinating creature called ‘Clay’, a species of ‘Killer Swan’ that lurks in the River Clyde.
Both Rosie and Connor will receive a signed copy of The Treasure of the Loch Ness Monster.
Congratulations to our winners and all of the wonderful monster spotters who sent in their entries to Kelpies HQ.
